Team Building & Zoo
We recently had the pleasure of working with NZ IP-Network specialists Solarix to organise their company christmas function and team building event. After meeting with our client, learning about their business,
and gaining an insight into the objectives of their christmas function, we were able to pitch several concepts that would “get their team excited” and also meet the event brief and requirements.
The Auckland Zoo was selected as the venue of choice and we began the process of designing an action packed day which included a Picnic Style Lunch upon arrival, our “more than meets the eye” team building at the zoo programme “Zoo Safari”, and then the grand finale of “dinner in the lions den”.
With 50 delegates arriving at the Zoo in beautiful Auckland sunshine the scene was set for an event to remember for all the right reasons. As our Auckland Lead Facilitator Darryn Collins briefed the group for their Zoo Safari Team Building Event it was very clear that this particular team was in no mood to take prisoners – the level of competition was going to be fierce.
As the team raced around the Zoo locating hot spots, solving cryptic clues, completing critter quest trivia questions, and photographing themselves with the local residents, it was a tired but enthused group which crossed the finish line and awaited the final points presentations.
While the dust settled and the Zoo Closed its doors to the public, the Lions Enclosure was quickly transformed into an “instant restaurant” as the teams refreshed and prepared to continue their Zoo experience. With bar staff serving a well deserved drink and caterers preparing an exquisite 3 course meal, anticipation built for the presentation of the Zoo Safari Results – no body could actually relax and enjoy the setting until the champions were revealed!
“Zoo Safari – what a super concept especially for those who had not been to the zoo in years! An amazing day with experiences that were well prepared, well presented and well supported. The entire group had a fun day and Darryn was a super facilitator. The pre event communication was efficient and really took the pressure off – Steph keeps in touch regularly to make sure everything is running smoothly and this followed on with the day. Even the weather was perfect. The clues made us all think outside the box – and the QR codes worked amazingly especially with the ways they were ‘concealed’ by some of the teams who got to them first” Solarix. By team up events.
